No Shrike today and generally quiet, but did have Red Admiral
Monday April 11th 2011 (1300hrs - 1630hrs) Shrike not seen again today, check out all the usual places on Dalton (deforested), Trig and the Common, and down into Lancelot and parts of Burton Fell. Winds pretty strong, and no show either of territorial birds, Tree Pipits or Stonechat. Did have a single Red Admiral on Lancelot in the more sheltered area, and a male Orange Tip at Plain Quarry. Also just one party of 6 Meadow Pipits going through NW on migration. Photos of flowers seen as shown above: Top: Primrose, Bottom: Common Whitlowgrass - Please click over photos to enlarge.
