Ferns
First scollie (Harts Tongue) croziers of the year in Dalton Crags this morning.
Birds
Large numbers of Chaffinch feeding up in Dalton Crags, also a pair of Stonechats (regulars) on breeding territory in the Crags, 2 Meadow Pipits paired on migration and heading to the NW. Still 5 Skylarks held up above the fields on Vicarage Lane, Burton In Kendal but our local breeders seem to be on territory. Song Thrush somewhere at top side of "bonk" singing away with the perfect mimic of the Oystercatcher
belated: 28th February - 2 Yellowhammers now feeding in local garden near to School.

Tussilago farfara - Coltsfoot now showing on the edges of Mike Taylors Field - Vicarage Ln, Burton In Kendal.
Alliaria petiolata - Garlic Mustard base leaves starting to appear everywhere
