It was my intention to check out the Southern Polypody No.2 which we are so lucky to have in Lancelot Clark Storth (CWF). It's one of those which protrude from all areas to the head of a very large boulder which lies within deep canopied woodland. I can show you some photos further down the blog.
But the story does not start there, on my way up Vicarage Lane (Burton In Kendal) I always have my eyes peeled for nice things, whilst looking into the packed vegetation lurking in the verges. Today just turned out to be yet another special day. I managed to find some Black Spleenwort (Asplenium adiantum-nigrum) at a new site, here are some of photos.

(Below) I was surprised to see so much Bush Vetch (Viscia sepium) around which are still in flower here and there. It's always been one of my favourite species and there have been flowers now since April. Also in the photo you can see the black seed pods.
Both of the above photos show the beautiful Bush Vetch with the top photo showing the flower and the lower photo showing the seed pods.
