Today I had a change and searched some of 'Uberash roughs'. On my way past the cairns near to Uberash Breast I found a new area of Angular Solomon's Seal, then later whilst checking out the roughs found another nice little section of it with some of the plants turned into green berries.

Butterflies included numerous Small Tortoiseshells, small whites, Large Skippers, Small Heaths, several Dark Green Fritillaries, Meadow Browns and Ringlets.

I am kindly told today by Robert Ashworth (Kendal) that he is still recording the Stonechat over in Dalton deforested together with one singing Common Whitethroat.

All I have had today is a singing Chiffchaff and no recorded Willow Warbler contact calls.

I checked out even more places for orchids and did find a few which I have shown here.
It's becoming clear that we are now on the run down with the atrorubens and I calculate perhaps 60% are now showing signs of being very dry and that they are going over quickly now, but we still have a few which look well.

This is the area today on Uberash Roughs, and shows the fragmented limestone
