Snippets of Wealth - Thursday 4th July 2019 - Hutton Roof - Orchids

Below are some of today's most beautiful orchids. A little windy up here and difficult to photograph.

Nice to see a Stonechat calling on the fell, I think it had young and the fell was its refuge for the young birds, along with a Meadow Pipit who again was using the fell as a nursery, which was lovely to see and hear them.

Although a little windy still lots of butterflies on view eg: Small Tortoiseshell x1, Ringlet x3, Meadow Brown x5, Small Heath x2, Dark Green Fritillary x6, GRAYLING at least 4

This is Specimen 9a which is a very green plant and considered to be a "pallens"
although this year it is showing far more red on the epichile and bosses. The area is designated the 9 (nine) family with several plants also showing this similar green look.

Grayling butterflies have been out since yesterday (Click over to enlarge)
