Its was great to meet up with even more members of the Hardy Orchid Society. Alan Gendle kindly asked me months ago if I would lead the party to check out our many special orchids. The party seemed overwhelmed with the splendour of our varieties of both Dark Red Helleborines, the Broad Leaved Helleborines and especially the Epipactis schmalhauseneii and the many varieties which included the beautiful "bicolors", the pallens, and the multitudes of what we guess are hybrids, plants with introgression etc.
Lots of interest was shown in the "light green stem" swarming situation which we have on Hutton Roof and it was suggested that these had left the hybrid stage and entered the introgression stages, I could not agree more.
