Sunday 25th April 2021 - Primrose Fields, Rinnerkarren and Hanging Scar with friends

We had a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon walk when I took friends over to the Primrose Fields at Hutton Roof, followed on by a sight of the Rinnenkarren and finally to see the Hanging Scar before heading back past the Hutton Roof Church.

22nd and 23rd April 2021 Lancelot Clark Storth (CWT) Angular Solomons Seal, Lily of the Valley, the rare Pale St. John's Wort (all emergence photos)

Another walk up Slape Lane and onward through Lancelot Clark Storth to check out  any emerging Angulars Solomons, Lily of the Valley and by much surprise the rare Pale St. John's Wort.  I did check several Angulars Solomons Seal populations which just were not ready or showing, but I turned up at the good old regular near the Cattle Crush on Lancelot and sure enough it would out and showing well as you can see from the photos.

The Spring Cinquefoil is showing well now at both sites on Lancelot, some of the clumps have anywhere between two or three flowers up to about 12 flowers in each clump. They seem to have come on leaps and bounds over the past week with many small populations.

Rigid Buckler Fern (Dryopteris sub-montana) is shooting out of the ground in earnest just like it's closeby mate the Limestone Fern.  You can see a nice clump in the photos just showing the croziers unravelling, also nearby Limestone Fern well on their way. Closeby there were also Maidenhair Fern unravelling.

It's really good up there at present with Birds Foot Sedge, Spring Sandwort, emerging Cow-wheat, a good time of year I would say.....
