Visible Bird Migration at Shore Road/Hunting Hill, Carnforth - 18th September 2011

Sunday September 19th 2011
Shore Road & Hunting Hill, Carnforth, Lancs.
0715hrs - 1030hrs
Wind: Easterley 3mph and then variable
Weather: Fine, blue skies and then clouded over, but always a low cloud mist to East
Movement: South unless stated.

It was very quiet today, but the hirundines saved the day, going through pretty steady stream up until about 0930hrs and then everything stopped. It was as though there was some sort of change in the pressure or something. Because other stuff starting moving a little more. But I bet I only had up to 20 Swallows from 0900hrs to finish at 1030hrs. But on checking just now and again they where still going through but at such a high altitude it was impossible to keep up with the movement and you where actually missing them, and that was how it was at finish.
Jays started today. Waders coming in from East.
